Historical Society Projects
Troy History Book Project
The Troy Historical Society has
created a book about the history of the City of Troy, encompassing the area within the
boundaries of the original school district. This area includes all of Jarvis Township and the southern portion of
Pin Oak Township.
The Troy Historical Society is
involved in an ongoing project to assemble the Mersinger
log cabin in Tri-Township
Park. Originally located
in southern Jarvis
Township circa 1850,
the cabin was assembled and displayed for a time at Southern Illinois
University in Edwardsville (SIUE).
The Troy Historical Society has
been responsible for various improvements to the Troy City
Cemetery, including
signage and brick replacement.
