How Do I...
Obtaining a library card at Tri-Township Public Library is easy! Simply fill out an application at the library. Patrons over five years old are eligible for cards. For patrons under 18, a sponsorship from a cardholder aged 18 or older at the same address is required. As a member of the Illinois Heartland Library System, Tri-Township Public Library cardholders enjoy full privileges at all system public libraries.
Residents within the Tri-Township Public Library District limits receive library card privileges through their property taxes. No additional fees are necessary for household members, whether renting or owning. Commercial property owners within the district may obtain one library card per commercial address.
When applying for a library card, bring a government-issued photo ID and proof of current address. Accepted forms of proof include a driver's license, utility bill, or lease agreement. Low income and Veteran options are available.
For those outside the district, non-resident cards are available for an annual fee. This fee grants access to all library privileges, including interlibrary loans.
Renewing your library card is simple. Within the district, call the library at 618-667-2133 to renew over the phone. For those outside the district, visit the library to renew and pay the out-of-district fee.
With your library card or photo ID, you can borrow items from the library.
