How Do I...
Getting a Tri-Township Library card is easy!
Anyone over five years old can apply. Those under 18 need a sponsoring cardholder, aged 18 or older, from the same address. To apply, bring a government-issued photo ID and proof of your current address, such as a driver's license, utility bill, or lease agreement.
Residents within the Tri-Township Public Library District receive free cards, funded by property taxes, covering all household members.
Commercial property owners in the district are entitled to one card per address.
Low-income and Veteran options are also available.
For those living outside the district, non-resident cards are available for an annual fee.
For homebound situations, please contact us.
All cardholders enjoy full privileges at Tri-Township Public Library and all member libraries of the Illinois Heartland Library System, including interlibrary loan access.
Renewing your library card is simple. Within the district, call the library at 618-667-2133 to renew over the phone. For those outside the district, visit the library to renew and pay the out-of-district fee.
With your library card or photo ID, you can borrow items from the library. Accessing digital materials on Hoopla, CloudLibrary, and Libby requires your library barcode number and PIN, typically the last four digits of your phone number. You can request items through your account on our website, through the SHARE Mobile Library which you can download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, in person at the front desk, or by phone.
